I went to see No Romance, by Nancy Harris, at the Peacock on Wednesday. I thought the writing was great, and some great performances. I particularly liked the way the three plays were linked in such an understated way, just a subtle reference to a blog or a pair of stockings to link back to a previous play.
The set (Paul Keoghan) was attractive, but I reckon there was a lost opportunity to include visual links between the sets. The Roy Lichtenstein image in the first set hinted at a sense of foreboding, but I would have liked to see some visual reference, other than simply providing a venue for the actors, in the other two plays.
But a good night out at the theatre.
